Middlesbrough Higashi Karate Club has been training in the Middlesbrough area since the 1970s. Currently running classes for both Juniors and Adults at Langdon Square Community Centre in Coulby Newham.

Members of Higashi Karate Kai (HKK) which has been in operation for more than 30 years and has over 1,500 students in many clubs around the UK.

HKK is a founder member of the English Karate Governing Body and recognised by the European Karate Federation and the World Karate Federation.

HKK has clubs in an area stretching North from London to Middlesbrough, West to Somerset, as well as affiliated clubs in Northern Ireland, Eire, Wales and Australia.

Our traditional style of Karate is Wado-ryu, on which our modern style of Higashi is based.

We are a friendly group, training is mixed (Adults and Children, aged 8 upwards), and some parents and children come along and train as a family.
